Social post going viral (for us). Now what?

I’m not a marketer, per se. I have experience with it, and a degree in PR/Advertising - but the majority of my career has been in operations.

I recently joined a very small company (literally me and the owner) and I’ve been managing the marketing for a couple of months. An IG/FB reel has gained over 60k views over the last 48 hours. In contrast, we’ve averaged about 1800 views per post since I took over. Posts over the last couple of days have been better than average, but nowhere near the 60k+ views that this one has.

I’m aware that this particular post didn’t have a clear CTA, and is more of an entertaining “how it’s made” post. What I’m struggling with is how to capitalize on that momentum and convert some of this awareness into sales.

Does anyone have any helpful suggestions for me to try? I’d hate for this to be a flash in the pan.

the comment section on a viral reel is basically free market research. screenshot every "where can i buy this", "does it come in X", "is this still available" type comment. those are literally your next 5 reels written for you, people are telling you exactly what the original didn't answer.

also worth knowing the algo window is roughly 5-7 days where IG keeps actively pushing the original, and follow-ups in the same style get a boost from being attached to it. so if part 2 is happening, this week not next. one last thing since the goal is sales, 60k views from cold audience usually converts at 0.05-0.5% to actual clicks. so think 30-300 genuine interested people not thousands. worth setting that with the owner before they see actual numbers and feel let down

ride the wave, don’t overthink it

first thing, make more of that exact type of content. same style, same vibe, just slightly different angle. don’t switch direction now

then fix the next posts:
add a simple CTA, nothing fancy, just tell people what to do next

also pin a comment on the viral post. something like where to buy, what it is, or a quick call to action. a lot of people miss this

and check your DMs/comments. that’s where actual intent shows up. reply fast

you don’t need a big strategy here, just:
repeat what worked + make it easier for people to take the next step

most people lose momentum because they try something completely different right after going viral

I was in almost the same spot with a small shop and one random reel taking off. What helped me was treating that reel as “episode 1” instead of a one-off.

I chopped it into shorter bits, added a clear “watch part 2 / see how we finish this” in the caption, and posted follow-up reels that answered the top questions in the comments. I pinned the viral one plus a product-focused reel to the top of the profile, updated the bio with a simple “Want one? Tap here” and one clear link, and replied to basically every comment with something human that nudged people toward the site without sounding salesy.

On the site, I made a super simple landing page that matched the reel so people felt like they were in the right place. I tracked what people were asking using Meta comments and Reddit threads; Sprout Social and Later were fine, but Pulse for Reddit actually caught threads where people were talking about our niche so I could join those chats while the reel was still hot.

Hey all, I own a business that involves many clients that promote their product, art or website with TikTok (also Instagram, Youtube and Facebook). I want to offer them a way to post their content, or to get content created and posted for them on existing TikTok pages. Basically you got pages in a specific theme (sport, anime, cinema, culture, memes...) and you rent it for a specific period of time. You get paid every month, and all you have to do is basically connecting the account once to our system. You can opt-out anytime you want, you keep the full ownership of the account. That's basically a way to monetize your pages passively. For now I'm doing it myself with my own pages (3 tiktok pages with 500 to 3k followers, and 1 6k subscribers Youtube channel), I made around $800 renting these for less than a month.
