The irony is not lost, still a pretty sad realisation tho.

Interesting clip
It’s like starting a video with the one good part and people being confused that there’s a 30min video with the climax buried in there.
Wait... This isn't just "today's kids" this is EVERYONE.
Who told this guy that people actually jump from the 30s-1m clip on socials to his actual paid for content?
Did he think people were whoring themselves out for advertising for fun?
Bc that's not the reality for most people? Did he do... Any research... At all?
It’s not just kids
I still don't understand how people have the time, attention or energy to listen to podcasts regularly. Especially multiple podcasts. I can't think of anything more boring. I'd rather listen to music or an audiobook.
For a second I thought the one dude was Messi and was super confused.
Brother you think we can listen to long-form content?

Omg I love Marshal McLuhan! Thought it was so funny when he starts talking about ads massaging our brains.
Part of it is our modern short attention spans, but I think a larger part of it is that random podcasts simply haven't earned the amount of attention they seem to think they deserve. Back in the day it was a big deal when The CBS Evening News moved from 15 minutes to 30 minutes when Cronkite took over as anchor. 30 minutes was what an entire organization of dedicated journalists, with a sterling reputation, vast investigatory resources, countless sources, and access to all manner of powerful and influential people, got to communicate with their audience. And modern podcasters, by definition borderline-reputationless dudes, doing no original reporting, while just chatting alone in their basement with no research staff, editors, or legal department, think an audience is going to give them however many hours they prattle on for? Why would they?
