No one is ur friend when it comes to mental health, governments assistance or tbh anything
$2000, that generally the limit. That means a bike, car, computer, or any items of value that total more than $2000 and you are disqualified. So sick of the troupe of people being lazy or looking for a hand out when you make a deal to live in poverty to receive social services.
I bet they expect you to start working again as soon as you're healthy enough to do so. But God forbid you have the tools to do that work.
NEVER EVER TAKE THAT INTERVIEW WITHOUT A LAWYER…
Google disability lawyers near you , they are not that expensive
Ah the dystopian capitalist nightmare
Feeling in this boat personally.
I have Catamenial epilepsy. Its seizures tied to hormones. Pms type. Too much Estrogen i seize. More progesterone and i am okay... so period time or during post pregnancies, my thresholdis at its lowest and im the most vulnerable. I had it diagnosed finally at 18, im 36 now. They started when i went through puberty.
Whats sad for me is I have a degree in buisness management and HR... but i cant work either because I had catastrophic clusters last August and almost died. I still have lasting shaking symptoms and struggle deeply with some fine motor skills.. i want to work.. i physically cant right now
I cant get disability.. i have tried for years.. but because i was 'able' to technically work, i wasnt approved... i am currently trying again and am not holding my breath..
Means testing benefits only serves to hurt the people who need access to it. There's numerous studies about this. The cost to the government to carry one struggling artist is negligible. In fact the cost to prevent fraud on different safety nets actually costs more than the actual fraud.
The only time the government should be means testing is for business funding etc which is often multiples of anything a person can make. Look at it like this. A doctor writing bogus prescriptions can cost the government far more than any one patient can get for treatment. So investigate the hospitals et all not the patients
I'm very much in favor of social safety nets, but the ways the laws were written are ultimately harmful. It's like the interstate system: very useful but the way the lawmakers used it in the 50s on to the present to destroy and divide and block of communities is wrong.
America doesn't want anyone to live, especially if you need support or financial assistance. The billionaires want all the land for themselves while they figure out how to funnel the common populous into the prison labor system to make us all slaves.
We have some things bad up here, but you Americans are fucked.
And you, for the most part, are such god damned nice people.
It’s forced poverty.
