Yeah, this happens more than people think honestly.
A lot of marketers treat “value posts = followers” and “product posts = sales,” but if the product content is:
- relatable
- visually strong
- emotionally relevant
- solving a clear problem
…it can absolutely drive followers too.
Especially for products like sanitary pads where people already have a personal connection to the topic. Sometimes product posts actually perform better because they feel more direct, authentic, or immediately useful compared to generic “tips” content.
I’ve also noticed that when a brand is new/smaller, people often follow because they want more of the product/style/vibe itself, not just educational content.
Usually the best-performing accounts end up being a mix of:
- value content
- relatable content
- product-focused content
- lifestyle/community content
instead of only “educational” posts all the time.
