Tiktok has a shadow banning problem, and I have no idea what to do. I should also say shadow banning is real..

I occasionally get shadow banned on TikTok. My views will suddenly drop from a few thousand down to around 100. The other day, I finally had my first viral video. It hit 280k views and brought in 3,000 new followers. But every video I post only gets about 100 views. How is that even possible? I gained around 3,000 new followers, yet none of them are seeing my content.

I’m really tired of this. On top of the low views, I can’t even reshare any of my “shadow banned” videos to my story, so I can’t reach my own followers even if I wanted to.

I think I’m going to stop uploading for a few days, even though I normally try to post twice a day. 😔

Every video is treated different. Look at the stats. Some videos I post will get 3m. Others will get 10k. I have over 30k followers.

There is no shadow ban. It’s a content problem. Your new videos suck

the viral video thing is actually a known pattern - TikTok sometimes throttles accounts after a big spike because their system gets suspicious of sudden engagement jumps. happened to a client of mine, 200k views on one video then back to 300 for the next three.

what worked for us: deleted the app completely, cleared cache, reinstalled, took 4 days off. came back and posted at a different time than usual. views came back to normal within a week.

also go back through your recent videos and check if any have words in the caption or text overlay that could have triggered it. sometimes it's something stupid like the word 'free' or even a sound that got flagged.

TikTok can swing extremely aggressively between pushing content hard and barely testing it at all, especially after a viral post. One big video does not necessarily mean the next videos automatically inherit that reach momentum.

And honestly, going viral can sometimes distort expectations because suddenly 100–500 views feels broken even though that range was previously normal.

That said, sudden drops can also happen from things like content similarity, low early retention, reused formats, sensitive keywords, aggressive posting frequency changes or audience mismatch after a viral video pulls in broad followers who are not deeply attached to the niche itself.

I probably would not panic and stop posting completely yet. A lot of creators accidentally damage momentum more by disappearing for days every time distribution fluctuates.

Hey all, I own a business that involves many clients that promote their product, art or website with TikTok (also Instagram, Youtube and Facebook). I want to offer them a way to post their content, or to get content created and posted for them on existing TikTok pages. Basically you got pages in a specific theme (sport, anime, cinema, culture, memes...) and you rent it for a specific period of time. You get paid every month, and all you have to do is basically connecting the account once to our system. You can opt-out anytime you want, you keep the full ownership of the account. That's basically a way to monetize your pages passively. For now I'm doing it myself with my own pages (3 tiktok pages with 500 to 3k followers, and 1 6k subscribers Youtube channel), I made around $800 renting these for less than a month.
