Will TikTok Ever disable location/local tab?

Hi everyone - I quit TikTok a few months ago when they introduced the local tab feature with opt out, attaching the location based on my IP address to all my stuff when I turned off location. I wanted to check in with people still using the app to see if they ever reversed this, as I don’t want random strangers on the internet knowing exactly where I am when I upload.
