I honestly think organic reach isn’t dead, but passive content definitely is.
Platforms got WAY more competitive because audiences are overloaded now.
People scroll through:
- creators
- brands
- AI content
- memes
- ads
- news
- influencers
all in the same feed nonstop.
So “good content” by old standards often isn’t enough anymore.
And honestly I think low-effort content sometimes wins because it feels:
- immediate
- human
- emotionally readable
- less optimized
- easier to consume/share
Meanwhile a lot of polished content feels emotionally empty even when technically well made.
I also think creators underestimate how much storytelling matters now.
Not cinematic storytelling necessarily.
More:
- tension
- curiosity
- emotional payoff
- relatability
- pacing
- identity
- social behavior
The algorithm mostly follows audience behavior.
If people stop reacting, sharing, commenting, rewatching, the platform stops caring.
And outrage works because it creates instant emotional participation.
People don’t just watch it.
They NEED to react to it.
That’s why calm/informational content often struggles unless it’s:
- deeply relatable
- highly useful
- extremely emotionally resonant
- or attached to a strong personality people already care about.
