So how come I have my location off and have not told tik tok where I live, yet it still has a "local" feature and shows me videos from where I live? Isn't this invasive? It should not know if I didn't give it that info. I'm annoyed.
TikTok knows your IP address if you don't use a VPN.
You should check to see if you have 'location services' turned on for TT on your device.
TikTok also reads your comments and knows what videos you watch, so it can get information from there as well.
I am no tech expert, but this is what comes to mind.
Have you turned off location in the app? The local tab disappears for me if I go into the settings on tiktok and turn off location
