This was making the rounds elsewhere (or even in this subreddit) and tldr is that the dude recording is actually, legally speaking, a nutcase and wasn't meant to be out of the psych ward so they sent police to go fetch him back. Someone went into his insta and it's all doomsday conspiracy theories which paired with being admitted to a psych ward means he's likely prone to psychosis

If you knew that guy's history you wouldn't be asking that.

It’s called being a harm to yourself or others and doctors worrying about that. You get involuntarily committed.

It happens in the US, it’s a 5150.

This isn’t anything illegal or Canada specific.

If you go through this guy's Instagram posts he's definitely suffering from some sort of mental health crisis.

At first this seamed crazy, then I started to analyze the back seat of his car. This seems like we are jumping to conclusions without context. Im not saying this is ok now, just that there are red flags and we are jumping in halfway through

Stupid fucking argument. Mexico is close to us geographically. Are we worried about cartels taking over the government? Please, please learn good reasoning.

The officer clearly states that the guy was certified by a doctor previously, it's not the officer that is determining the guys mental state...

Seriously, it seems anyone can post a title, , make up their own context and people will just rage comment.. Based on inaccuracy and untruths

For one thing, mental health legislation is provincial, not national. Secondly, he hasn’t been certified, he’s been formed which is a 72-hour hold to observe a person to determine is mental illness is causing them to represent a harm to themselves or others. Thirdly, this kind of legislation is common, if not universal, across all US states.
