These loons are so dumb they don't even know they are basically special needs.

Missing context: this parent is "unschooling" her child, which means he doesn't attend school, and she doesn't actually homeschool him either. Parents like this think that their kid is going to learn everything they need to know through experience and asking questions when they don't know something. (Savy Writes Books on Youtube has a long video that breaks down and criticizes this idea, and it includes the full video this clips is from.)

(Unschooling is particularly frustrating when you come from a developmental psychology background, by the way - kids do learn a lot of things through experience, like helping their parents with chores, but there are a lot of essential skills that need to be explicitly taught and practiced, like reading and math.)

ETA: another commenter pointed out that this is actually just one, misused, form of 'unschooling' (the parent calls it radical unschooling).

Coming from a teacher, you can always tell when the parents are interested in their learning at home and when they are not. Life education is not all up to a teacher.

What is happening here? Is the "we" meaning the kid is homeschooled but not taught anything and she is ragebaiting? Or is "we" our schools and she is complaining about the quality of the school?

“We don’t teach our children anything” is not the flex she thinks it is.
