Audio gets messed up with headphones

Ok so— I started posting on TikTok recently and I’ve been having a great time, but last night I started getting an issue that’s driving me insane. I’m too OCD for this. 😭

Since I started posting, the audio on my TikToks have been fine, but last night I had to uninstal and reinstall the app, and now it’s completely messed up. The audio on all my TikToks now sound super echoey. If I use the browser version, it’s fine. So this is only happening on the app, and when I turn my headphones off, it’s also fine. So I assume it’s a weird issue with my headphones, but it was fine before so I dunno why it’s suddenly acting weird. Anyway, i know that the sound on one side is quieter on the videos, I think because of the fact I record with my phone at an angle so it ends up louder on one side. So I’m thinking the TikTok app is suddenly automatically trying to make both channels the same volume when my headphones are on?? Like mono sound except I definitely have that turned off.

After googling I feel like it could be because of the auto audio adjustment thing, but I don’t know if they remove*d that feature or what bc I can’t find the setting to turn it off on my android phone or my iPad. just wondering if anyone knows what’s going on or how to fix cuz it’s driving me a little crazy here.
