Yeah that's an evil villain monologue for sure. 10/10.

Also insane that he says that the public will be making it a utililty like electricity and then say that everything gets worse when the public makes "central planning decisions" like electricity isn't also one of the greatest examples of the public making something viable in the first place lol

The legend of Icarus, staring us in the face the whole time, is our undoing?

They just fundamentally want and envision a future that the vast majority of people dont want and think is horrible.

Theyre building this future regardless of what we think, making it impossible to escape and then selling it to us as “its inevitable”. Yea, cuz youre fucking making it inevitable without our fucking desire or consent, Sam!

At least with social media, most people loved it and genuinely thought it was a positive thing. Now, i feel like most people who dont stand to make money off of it - dislike AI. Turned out to be a horrifically destructive force on society. But at least the public was willing.

Now, it feels like we all see how horrible this is going to be, we dont want it, and it doesnt even matter. Youre called a luddite or a boomer by the people forcing it on you and the small cadre of bootlickers that like it if you point out that you dont a future where people have to subscribe to their intelligence.

And are we under any illusions that new jobs will come even close to fast enough to replace all the jobs that are lost to it? Are we under any illusion that our governments will make up the difference to us in the form of UBI? Are we under any illusion that these companies will pay their employees more because of how much more productive their employees are with AI (in the situations where it actually works out like that. Still waiting to see that on a large scale)?
