Gift Reaction Streamers???

What is the deal with these TikTok streamers that get thousands of viewers for doing nothing but reacting to gifts? Typically they will have some “game” on in the background of a ball bouncing around or something but it’s not really a game. I guess it’s just to give the viewer something to look at.

I just came across one (yaboysavage_) and it’s just some sweaty guy in his mid 30s freaking out over TikTok gifts and how many viewers he has with said game playing in the background. I have never heard of him but he has millions of followers and gets thousands of viewers on his live. It’s strange though because his regular TikTok videos get barely any views and I couldn’t find much information about him online.

I’m just trying to understand why people are throwing their money away on this garbage? I can understand donating to a streamer because they are entertaining/talented and you want to support them but this is just crazy to me. Is it literally just to have their username read out in front of others and to see the streamers reaction? Or is there more to it? Im assuming it’s just a bunch of little kids with rich parents who are seeking attention but idk?

I just find it insane and it kind of pisses me off that people are spending money on this. No hate towards the creators, they are just doing it for the money obviously.

I’d like to hear what you all think and if there is an explanation for it other than what I already mentioned?
