A couple things.
-
How is the handwriting?
-
How drunk are these people?
FYI: I watched this whole video, one hour and 47 minutes long. These were the only people that didn't correctly read the card out of about 87.
Catching a bunch of drunk people on the spot to read random shit is probably gonna net some bad results.
How many people do you know that haven’t read a book since school?
This is just sad.
Iirc it’s actually worse than that, I think the Nancy Reagan foundation website has information about this on their homepage.
But yeah, it’s really fucking bad.
A few things:
- It seems at least a few of them are drunk.
- Even if we assume the handwriting is fully legible, he still most likely just cherry picked the people who had difficulties (out of who knows how many he “interviewed”)
- What is supposed to be the “joke” here anyway? Whether these individuals are accurate representations of the general public’s literacy levels or not, something like this isn’t helping them (honestly, it would likely have the opposite effect, as humans are averse to things that trigger shame)
I showed my 8 year old, she wasn't too bad at it and attempted the harder words and figured them out! We do not live in the US lol
2nd dude literally just dyslexic.
These are just dumb drunk club NPCs.
