I usually plan the idea first, then create the caption around it. Simple workflow works best.
Most people don’t really start with the caption they usually figure out the idea or message first then write the caption around that. If you’re only generating captions from the image, it kind of misses the bigger part, which is the actual intent behind the post.

I would recommend starting with a general theme/topic and factor it down to specific pain points within your niche. If you can find 3 to 5 sub-topics or pain points within that topic, that would already give you an idea for the image and the caption.
From there, it really doesn't matter if the image or the caption comes first. You can add your idea/theme to AI tools and ask for 5 ideas to post about within that theme, with recommended visuals. You can either ask your AI tool to create the visuals for you, or, ask for steps to create it yourself in canva, for example.
