When I was in highschool in the 90's, I got called into the officers office. He told me, that someone told him I gave a bunch of people pot before class. I denied, said absolutely not, and walked out of the office.
That same officer then told other people, that I told him those other people gave me pot.
Of course it was found out that stupid ass Jessica snitched on the whole group. But I learned that day never trust a cop, not a fucking word they say and never, ever, fucking ever talk.
Such a well explained video ngl.
Yeah, law enforcement investigative methods are hardly humane in any way, do not engage with them unless it benefits you, it rarely will, if they arrest you should always choose to speak to a lawyer.
I had no idea how much shit you can get into that can follow you for your entire life just for "answering a few questions", even if you never got convicted or even go to trial. Even if all charges get dropped because they have no case, you're still screwed.
Can confirm. Source: I talked to the police without a lawyer two years ago. At the time I genuinely believed they would listen to what I had to say. They did not, and it changed my life irrevocably for the worse.
The. Police. Are. Not. Your. Friends.

From every crime podcast I have heard: always have a lawyer present!
I believe you, ma'am.
Never say anything to police except that you want a lawyer
It’s kinda bullshit how police officers, people you’re supposed to trust to protect you, people who are supposed to keep the peace and supposed to enforce the law, resort to scummy manipulation tactics to put a stain on innocent people’s records and put innocent people in jail just for being cooperative and doing what they’re supposed to do by following the cops instructions. It is scummy that these “good people” have to resort to criminal tactics to get what they want. It is pathetic how police and lawyers are NOT on the same side because the police is corrupt. They both work in the same field and yet one is so obviously more tyrannical than the other. And don’t get me wrong there’s corrupt lawyers and corrupt judges out there too. I’d sooner trust a lawyer than i would a cop
