What are your thoughts on TikTok Auction Mystery Items?

There's a new feature on tiktok (at least new to me) in which creators can sell mystery items via auction, which includes a spinning animation where a random item/product is selected from a list of different possibilities with probabilities assigned to each item. The creator will auction off a 'mystery item' and the highest bidder will win a random item. I'm surprised that tiktok is allowing this, as it seems like a gambling loophole to me. It must be extremely profitable for the sellers because I've seen videos where they buy the high-end items from BestBuy instead of some kind of bulk deal. What are your thoughts on this? Should this be allowed?
