Legal suggestions wanted
My friend in China, who’s an influencer in Chinese version of TikTok having over 600k followers, recently discovered there’s an account on TikTok the global version stealing her videos for reposting. While the regarding account is using the same username, profile picture, bios as her own account. Now she wants me to report and take this account down on behalf of her, since in China they don’t have access to any webpages such as TikTok nor even Google. Me right now on behalf of her for the report are facing some issues and don’t know what to do, hoping if anyone can give me some suggestions:
- Is such behaviour considered as impersonating, or simply copyright infringement?
- Since this report is separated from the in app report, where can I track progress? (As I’ve only received an automatic email with report number, not nowhere to check it)
