Account recovery issue

Has anyone dealt with this TikTok recovery issue before?

I’m trying to get back into an old TikTok account, but when I try account recovery using my phone number or email, TikTok only pulls up a different/newer account I created later.

When I search the old username directly, TikTok asks me to verify through X/Twitter, but then immediately says it can’t complete the verification. So I’m basically stuck in a loop.

A few details:

• the old account is still live/searchable
• I no longer seem to have a direct login attached to it
• my current phone/email appear tied to another TikTok account
• the X/Twitter verification path fails every time

Has anyone successfully recovered an account in this situation? Especially if your contact info got attached to another account later?

Any tips appreciated because TikTok support has been pretty useless so far.
