Live Streaming going wrong in a newly built social media platform, Suggestions???
Hi, a few weeks ago I posted on this subreddit about the idea of building a new social media platform. At that time, I was at nearly 85-90% of what it is today. It started as a personal portfolio project, turned into a real project, www.manob.xyz, and is usable by users.
Currently being used by over 400 users, without any posting or marketing, just from a conversation with some University club members a few weeks ago, and this is the first time I'm publicly writing about it.
That’s not the point, but a reference to understand the context. Since yesterday's USA vs Paraguay, and Bosnia vs Canada matches, users are sharing/streaming LiveE matches using the Live feature (like Facebook/YouTube Live), where they were creating streams and sharing their screens playing live matches.
The feature was there in the first place as some users requested a streaming feature, so they can start their own radio show or live podcast/discussion-type content.
I was offline, and later discovered this, nearly 8-12 hours later, and took all those streams down and disabled the Live Stream feature for everyone, having seen this happen on other social media as well. The users messaged me via the platform chats, asking what happened to their content, as we clearly have a 'no shadow ban' rule. Our moderation is robust with real-time fact-checking, and copyright checking (getting better), unfortunately, it doesn't work on Live streams as they are a whole different story.
Question to all. What would you have done if you were in my place? And what would be your next solution to handle content like this? And any suggestions on this live stream feature (generic)?
