TikTok age verification??

So recently someone said they can’t send me TikTok’s because my DMs aren’t on so I watched like 5 videos on how to turn them of and I just don’t have the button for it, i looked it up again and it said it might be because of my birthdate on TikTok so I scanned my id and my face (I’m 17 turning 18 in a week🎉) and it said my submission was accepted but I still don’t have dms then I went to TikTok support AGAIN and it said I didn’t have DMs because I was under 16????
