The whole screen time bit is ridiculous as if baby boomers don't have their phones glued to their foreheads at this point.

But don’t phones still function as phones?

Like I have a lot of problems with this and think it’s a terribly idea but definitely not for that reason

You can always call and text people, that’s what phones were originally for

Also if her alternative to staring at her phone for 9 hours is staring at a wall then she should have her phone time restricted anyway

I just think it should be done by parents and not the goverment

Stare at a wall made me scream. I love teens, they are so dramatic. I was a very dramatic teenager.

Do kids not use the contacts/phone app to save numbers and contact family? In an emergency, how would they contact their parents/people on a landline or a strangers phone?

Good, if staring at a wall is all you can think of doing without social media, you shouldn’t have it.

Boredom is a lost art.

And that introduction to boredom and a wandering mind will do wonders for her. Although, it already seems she has a terrific head on her shoulders.

I guarantee she is the exception and not the rule.
