Well, they shouldn't do this either... I don't know what this means in terms of waste water or rising water temperatures but I imagine if everyone did this, we'd have just as serious problems
It’s not good to put them in the ocean
China doesn’t have regulations like other countries
Not only is it a bad idea from an environmental standpoint, but it’s just dumb from a technology one too.
Pumping water is NOT difficult, what is difficult is maintaining limited life cycle hardware in a corrosive environment (salt water on metal, electronics, and filters)
Things like this get headlines and probably investment hype because they’re flashy and new, but that doesn’t make it sound.
Because this is also stupid, and equally devastating to the environment.
Do you think multiple atomic bombs of heat per center released a day would be good for our already warming oceans? Do you think salt water is good for any sensitive cooling components, even "passive" ones?
We’re too busy putting on ufc fights on the WH lawn.
News flash, just in case you've been living under a rock, underneath another rock. Our government doesn't care about anything. If it's not "defense spending" or corporate bailouts, they really couldn't be any less concerned. Hope this helps
The china simps on TikTok are crazy. America leads the world in ai, it’s an American invention for the most part, but we are living in the 18th century because they put a data center underwater? I agree with the fact that these data centers are a problem, but people lose all perspective when talking about America sometimes.
We don't need more fucking data centers
Because centrally planned economic systems can do things with payoffs decades in the future instead of needing to generate share holder value within 8 quarters
