Tiktok is showing my hometown to people in my dms

How does tiktok get my location, as i don't share it? It shows my hometown to other people on the top of the dms under my name. I also know that it comes and goes, my friend realized that, and it doesn't seem to happen on other people. If anyone knows whats happening and possibly how i can get rid of it, that would be good to know!
