TikTok won’t let me login

whether I login with username or phone number when I enter my password, it wants to send me a text message to verify a code, but then it says it won’t send the code because there has been too many attempts. It has said this since the very first attempt before I made any attempts at all so I waited a couple days and I came back and I tried it again and it says the same thing what is going on?
