Has anyone figured how despite turning off location for tiktok on phone settings, it still registers what region my phone is in?

What I see when I open the app is:

[My Current Region], Following, For You

If someone else adds their account to my phone, at first the region does not show up. Then eventually it appears the longer that account is used. If I switch back to my account it’s the same process, it doesn’t show the region until I use it for a while.
