Discovered a new strategy to gain followers, but I'm not sure if it's worth it.

First here is the strategy:

Influencer shows a product. Says "This product is too good, comment for the link" (Probably posted as a trial reel)

After that when people comment, influencer replies "you need to follow me for me to get into your dms" I'm not even sure if it's true.

Why I am not sure if it's worth it:

People can unfollow immidiately after you send the link.
Even if they follow you, is it sustainable? I mean what if they realise that "I'm really not interested in this thing" and unfollow?

I have recently started posting. I am looking for long term sustainable audiance and organic growth.

What do you think of this strategy? Is it ethical? Seems easy enough to exicute, get the product, get the link, post and then send to whoever follows you.

I think I am still not going to do it tho, but would love to hear your thoughts.

If I have to follow someone to get info or whatever, I'm not going to bother. I'm perfectly capable of doing my own research on a product and I don't need an influencer's influence.

You gotta give people a reason to be invested so if you only post one product is it something they find slight interest, passive interest, did they like your presentation? It’s all stuff to consider. Think of Zac Mama and his comedy, he kept posting the same joke and I still find it funny so o followed him. His product is comedy. Or Anderson Burrus who will post clips of his battle raps, if people like his bars or appreciate battle rap they will follow him. Find something that’s worth posting and people will find you worth following
