My community offers a few free little food/fridge & supply pantries that are stocked by volunteer donations which is REALLY nice in theory for those in need. In practice the issue is that because they're "first come, first served" & completely unpoliced there's a small group of like the same 3 people who ride around in their vehicles daily & empty out everything before anyone else has a chance to get anything so we're basically subsidizing the grifter lifestyle of 3 greedy adults who take the stuff & either return it to the store for credit or try to sell it at the local laundry mat which sucks 😮‍💨
