Should I make a new TikTok if changing niches?
Back in the day (aka before kids lol) I was a nail tech. I had decent following on instagram and had started posting a couple nail videos on TikTok. Mostly just “watch me do my nails” videos. I only posted 3 of those but each one got 1.5 - 2.5k views and over a hundred likes per post. Then around the same time, I got pregnant with my first kid, developed really bad HG so I was puking all the time, and had to stop doing nails, so obviously in turn I stopped posting to my socials. This was about 2 years ago that I stopped posting nail content. My TikTok only had like 90 followers but I kept using it through the years to watch videos.
I’m a mom of 2 now and I recently started posting to TikTok again but within a new niche on the same account. I’ve transferred over to lifestyle, vlogging type of videos. I don’t want to be tied down to one specific niche. I just want to be me lol. I’ve mostly just posted motherhood videos, babywearing videos/tutorials, home birth stuff, kindle/book vids, but my views are very low. Like all my videos except one home birth vid and one babywearing tutorial only have 40-50 views which I find very strange. I want to be able to post whatever I want - mostly motherhood stuff and booktok stuff, but I also want to post GRWMs, styling my body videos, shoe collection, rants (lol), recipes, nail content every now and then (I still do my own nails), etc.. I guess I’m just wondering if TikTok is punishing me and I need to make a new account lol? I didn’t post for about 2 years but now I’ve posted almost every day for a month and my first few vids had normal type of low views (100-200) but after those it dropped down to 40-50 views per vid. I don’t know whether to keep grinding on this account and try and get my reach up, or whether I should make a brand new account in general. What do yall think? Any advice?
