Don't take it personally, it is a big platform with many unique niches. Try to post during their peak times and be consistent. Some posts take months to get likes and can continue to get likes for some time.

I have something similar. Though sometimes my old posts get random views and likes. The algorithm is very weird.

I’ve heard before that if you post immediately, the algorithm looks at you suspiciously, and that you need to comment regularly for a few weeks before gaining traction for posting

The ban isn't really about privacy concerns

Why exactly? You and me know why America is banning tiktok... They can't control the narrative their like they do with Facebook or Instagram YouTube. etc The genocide in Gaza was being shown in its full without any kind of censorship...
