Now the search engine is broken. It became terrible a few months ago but now it’s literally just showing. unrelated videos with 200 likes. Back then you’d just be able to search up a character’s name and you’d get a billion high quality edits of them.
Even the main page is getting worse. I now get random unfunny generic videos about love island just because they have 600k likes, and I’ve even gotten the same videos on my fyp multiple times.
I’m new to tiktok so not sure what it was like before the purchase but Im just flabbergasted by the amount of ads as well hah.
I wish the Chinese would create a new one and call it toktik

It was my favorite app before the hostile takeover. Lots of hella intelligent people on there producing quality content. Then the takeover happened and...it went to hell.
Its badly broken now but that is what happens when the USA force buys it
For me, it’s the constant bot accounts that have either stolen content or outdated news articles from a long time ago. And because of how lax TikTok is with such, I got to where I can’t even tell who is even real and who is the actual content creator.
You have to go to settings and put loveisland in your words to filter out. It helped to get rid of the videos. Over several days they flooded the site with videos about love Island (and I got a lot of baby videos as well) but I filtered out the key words and my algorithm is better. Not perfect, but better.
Its just facebook reels now imo
I have to check the comments to make sure the video was even posted this year.
