Random joe: hello, I recently landed a gig as an SMM based on my personal post and honestly don’t know how to go about managing this account.
me: Hey man congratulations I have gone through most of the answers here they are good but here's what I have to add.
First, you need motion not advice|
-
Set up an operational hub → Notion, Airtable or any project management server you prefer.
-
Draft your content pillar → here your do your rebranding(if not done), ICP research, competitor research, and assign tonality
-
Draft your content strategy → you dive into the content itself (since it's a small brand, what to post depends largely on the what they sell)
work on your hooks
Learn how to ride trends
Learn personalized content
(including love, rage-bait & controversy)
Build so much authority around your offer/results
learn the psychology of product presentation & CTAs
-
Distribution → posting mostly rewards better on the platform most active hour, depending on your audience location. nurturing audience (when someone shows interest in your content, appreciate them)
-
Reports/Analytics → how each posts performed - like, replies, and reactions. bookmark the content that performed well document what you did and how to get better.
from here I believe you have understood the basic & can offer your client something suitable to keep the account up and running.
I think gave him the whole playbook or what did I miss?
