Why do people go to DMS when they’re losing an argument?

Just last night I had a conversation with someone commenting on a video calling them a “larper” because they were taking notes on Blender to learn, when they themselves confirmed to have used AI for Blender. I pointed that out and now he’s calling me slur words on DM lol, is this normal?
