The most optimal time to have blown up on TikTok is in its early stages

Think about it: back in 2018-2019, the app was still new and experimental. Barely anyone was using it, which means it was more of an opportunity to gain hundreds of followers. And then during the lockdown we had, that was an even bigger opportunity for popularity since now EVERYONE was trying out TikTok. And plus everyone was letting their creativity flourish without THAT MANY hate comments. Nowadays, the app is so broadly used that 1.5 million views is not that impressive. Then you have the constant negativity on anyone being creative, the ai slop, the constant TikTok shop posts/ads, and now brands are using the app too. Blowing up seems impossible now. I miss the early days…

I will never use TikTok again after China sold it to the USA.

The fact, you use reddit means reddit seems to be just enough for having discussions about anything.

Don't give two shits about tiktok. But I was addicted to it before.

Even was high on LSD while watching tiktoks and I got a realization back then too how it just brain rots you slowly with endless scrolling.

I get the nostalgia, but I don’t think “early TikTok” was the only window. It was easier to grow then, but the playbook was also less developed.

Now the app is crowded, but the opportunity has shifted. You probably won’t blow up just by being early or random anymore. You need a clearer niche, repeatable format, stronger hook, and a reason for people to come back.

The annoying part is that TikTok feels more commercial now with Shop, ads, AI content, and brands everywhere. But that also makes genuinely human, specific, weird, or useful content stand out more when it hits.

So yeah, early TikTok was easier. But “impossible now” is probably too far. It’s just more of a strategy game.

IMO of course

Dude, tell me about it. I have 43,000 subscribers and TikTok won’t even push my video to them they literally sit in a 200 view jail ever since the purchase. https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTSQxM8yD/ this video should have hit and if you watch the video that I posted after it where I talk about an experiment that I ran it makes no fucking sense that it didn’t.
