As a culture we do not deal with death and dying. I got into a career in healthcare in my 30s, and the shift was dramatic. Being faced with suffering, loss, and death all the time gives you a beautiful perspective on your life but it also makes you realize most people go throughout their lives with blinders on. Tell your people you love them

Just one bit to add, don't let the fact you could die tomorrow freak you out too much. It's ok to not worry about death every day and it's too hard to know when it's your turn or someone else's.
