TikTok not showing comment replies

Every time I make a comment and more than one person replies, I only see the first reply and no others. This happens whether I comment on someone’s video, or reply to someone in the comment section of my own video. I have tried clearing the cache, updating the app, and looked at my comment history and settings but nothing works. I even have to get a friend to screenshot the replies so I can see them!
