Many cultures and tribes would sacrifice their children to other gods. This test was normal for someone in that time. You guys acting like God is so evil when literally the rest of the world is partaking in much worse. God takes what the world does and flips it, not allowing death of Isaac but giving something else to take Isaac’s place.

Isaac carried the wood. He was old enough to know what was going on. He was aware of the customs of animal sacrifice. He willingly chose to go with his Father, carrying the wood, to die for his Father.
The mountain they chose is the same mountain Christ was crucified on.

This moment with Isaac and Abraham is a picture of what Jesus would do centuries later.
