This is barely an exaggeration from experience

My sweet mother still gasps dramatically and presses the invisible brake when I'm driving. I've been driving for 20 years.
My mom took me out driving in our suburban neighborhood one time, and yelled "TRASH CAN" every time there was a trash can by the curb. I still do not know what she wanted me to do with that information.
This is why I have never taught one of our kids to drive. I am way too high strung. I get stressed in the passenger seat while my husband drives.
Professional driving instructors ftw.
I’m glad everyone in the comments understand that these are jokes, and there’s not several idiots explaining to nobody that parents are stressed for many possible legitimate reasons, and sometimes overreact based on that.
It’s even worse in a manual.
Lmao same, my father would literally keeps grabbing the wheel and yelling at me, was a nightmare. My driving instructor was just like this though lol
It would be the same if the driving instructor had to pay for the car, insurance, gas and know if they act like a parent it could mean their job.
Parents have nothing to lose except the car, insurance rates, and gas…oh and of course their kid
I hired a professional for my son. Worth the money.
my father would have hit me in the head already
This isn’t an exaggeration, and I’m the dad in this scenario.
I did pay for professional training for my girls, but they also wanted to drive with me before those were done.
I’m not totally trying to defend the yelling, but I do want everyone to keep something in mind: the professional has their own brake on their side.
It’s a lot easier to be chill if you can stop the car if needed.
The parent only has their voice, and I’ve seen enough close calls with my own girls, let alone plenty of videos where the parent is saying “STOP” as the kid runs right into another car.
