Tiktok on laptop

Hi

I just downloaded Tiktok on my laptop. I've had it on my phone for 7 years, but that's a different account. I've downloaded it on my laptop as the one on my phone is about history while I wanted the one on my laptop to be about my writing, so I've logged in with a different email and all that.

However, every time I follow someone, when I go back to my profile it's still saying that I've not followed anyone. And then, if I try to refresh the page/app, it'll log me out.

Does anyone know how to fix this or what's wrong with it?

Also, when I signed up, it didn't have that pop-up asking what I'd like to see on Tiktok or any of that normal stuff, and I didn't get an email or anything to confirm that I'd set it up.

I even went onto my page via the account on my phone and couldn't find it, so I searched my phone account on my laptop and had to like a video of my own just for it to show up. And then, to test it, I followed my laptop account on my phone, but when I tried to follow the phone account, it followed briefly and then unfollowed it.
