McDonald's does this, Walmart does this. Billion dollar companies asking me to feed kids. Why not use the money you don't pay in taxes to do it yourself?

I have never seen anyone provide proof of a large grocery store having a higher than 10% profit margin. Most operate in 3-6%. Where do people get the idea that they are greedy and raising prices just so they get more profits?

I never donate, not because I'm heartless but because these damn corporations like Walmart can literally solve the hunger issue in the USA all on their own and it would barely make a dent in their pockets.

Fuck Loblaws, I knew someone who worked at one of their stores and they're horribly greedy.
They force the majority of their employees to be part time so they don't have to pay for benefits, and if the stores self checkout numbers weren't high enough they would cut hours.
On top of that, and many other shitty things, they told me that during COVID their price increases- from corporate- went from less than a page a week to multiple pages, but their costs rarely saw the same increase. Also pretty sure they were the ones that went to court to stop paying the additional hazard pay for their workers mid pandemic.
Fuck Loblaws.
