the best content brief is usually a customer complaint
most content calendars start with topics. i think the better starting point is the annoying customer sentence that shows up in comments, sales calls, support tickets, reviews, and dms.
if someone says "i don't know what to post because everything sounds generic", that is already the brief. turn it into:
- the exact sentence they would say out loud
- what they tried before
- the mistake they keep making
- one specific example or proof point
- one small next action
then make one post from each line, not one mega post trying to solve the whole topic.
this also makes approvals easier for teams because you are not debating taste as much. you are asking "does this answer the actual thing people keep saying?"
curious if people here keep a real question/complaint bank, or if most teams are still planning from content pillars and competitor screenshots
