The fact that these are allowed on the streets at all is beyond me

You need a special license to ride a motorcycle that you can only obtain after the age of 16; but you can ride an electric one with absolutely no oversight or regulation at all??

Parents who buy these for their kids do not give a fuck about their kids' lives. I will fight anyone who thinks otherwise

They’re extremely dangerous for pedestrians as well. They ride on sidewalks & walking paths at full speed. Shit pisses me off.

Now she mentions it, I have never ever seen anyone on an E-scooter wear a helmet. It makes absolute sense to do so because those things are so incredibly fast and people are on the roads with them. I'm not just talking about kids, but adults too.

Regular bike for my kids, hell no I'm not putting them on e- anything.

Too dangerous, let them fuckers pedal.

Epic (the electronic medical record system) has a button in the trauma macro that lets you select mechanism of injury and even back in 2018 when I was in my first summer on clinical rotations, they had a button for "e-scooter accident", and boy howdy did I click it a lot that July.

As a teacher, it’s painful to witness your students arrive on obviously tampered e-scooters without helmet or protective gear. And when you reach out to their guardians to let them know, most just awkwardly laugh it off like they ultimately have no control over what their 10 (!!!) yo does or doesn’t do.

I fractured my ribs and sprained my shoulder falling off a regular bike going about 10, maybe 12 mph. Don’t even want to think about flipping over going 28. And my helmet cracked. All around sucked, do not recommend.

in my country they are considering banning e-scooters!

About a week ago there were four young teen boys, two per scooter, going the wrong way on a busy four lane street, wildly swerving around cars and pedestrians on the sidewalk. People just walking are also in danger because of these reckless riders

Time to start showing aftermath videos of kids that wrecked on e-bikes. I was overtaken in a 40 zone by two lads on Surron type bikes wearing tracksuits and trainers, no helmets or gloves weaving in and out of traffic
