I've never understood the argument that there's war and conflict in Africa because African countries are too mixed ethnically and culturally, without necessitating that ethnic nationalism would be a universal necessity outside of Africa too.
okay and europe also had many countries taken over by neighbours and never given back? after how many years would it be right to say “just figure it out already and stop crying”
Conflict, division and instability would still exist. Didn‘t needed the colonizers.

Wait, are you telling me that forcing people from different cultures to live together in the same country results in conflicts, division and instability? I thought diversity is a strength, rather than a weakness?
I’m sure it would be tough to do but why can’t the affected countries renegotiate borders among themselves that reflect what they want now, rather than what nineteenth century colonisers wanted.
These countries aren't bound by treaties they didn't sign. They are free to change their borders whenever they want to. It won't fix past damages but if there's a disagreement about the current border they need to negotiate a new one.
