This weekend vs Next weekend debate

Sunday is still this weekend. The next Saturday would be next weekend. A. Final answer.

I would think A. 

pretty simple, "this weekend" is the end of "this week" , "Next Weekend" is the end of "Next Week".

You're driving on the road. You're at an intersection. Your GPS says, "take the next right." Are the people who think B weekend is the right answer going to also hear, "recalculating" as they drive straight through the next intersection?

It’s currently the weekend, so next weekend would be the upcoming. Once it is Monday, this weekend is the upcoming weekend, and next weekend would be B

If it is the weekend as we are talking, I would interpret "this weekend" as the Saturday and Sunday we are currently experiencing. "Next weekend" is a week from today. During the week is when things get ambiguous. If it's Wednesday today, "this weekend" is definitely the upcoming Saturday and Sunday, but "next weekend" could be either, so it's best to clarify.

I know it’s all for fun but wtf. If she is standing in line at the DMV and the employee says “next customer!” Does she go, “dangit” and let the person behind her go?

Next weekend would be “A”.

Weekend after next would be “B”

B. This weekend means the one that’s coming up. BUT I have always said “this weekend coming up”. And I would also say “not this weekend but next weekend”

I would think weekend A. In my mind the next Saturday is the start of the "next" weekend, since its currently Sunday in the example.

Sunday is the start of the week, not the end of the week. Next weekend means B. I will die on this hill, and take as many people with me as I can.
