Have had the same experience. Keep in mind, There's a lot of anger and disharmony about the economical slump affecting common people in China - the censors have to work hard to curate a "harmonious" atmosphere - that implies reducing the visibility of foreigners and their views. Sad to say, but this is my conclusion after 15 months on this otherwise great app. Today, I keep in contact with my chatting buddies from 6 months ago and avoid touching any comment fields, especially about work, cultural exchanges, etc. (I have never crossed the more obvious lines). Even if I'm ID verified I wouldn't be surprised if they cut my access all of a sudden. Chinese authorities are afraid of how our presence can contribute to a worsening of resentment and frustration among their young people, they have full control of policies through CAC - Cyberspace authority of China.
