Beautiful clip and talk. Cite your sources. Gimme that bibliography

I was arguing with the homie about US oil production and I looked up some info and showed it to him and he scoffs because it's a CNN article and said you can't trust them as a source.

I then spent 30 minutes trying to explain to him that CNN isn't the source, they are reporting on information, the Department of Energy is the source, they have the information 😂

Unfortunately, media literacy will not save us

Chrono Trigger as background music? Good choice.

This is reddit, the only source you need is "trust me bro!" /s

Problem is this was something that people didn't learn before AI, they'd quote shit they heard from one person who didn't give their source or any actual evidence. Now they're hearing it from someone who tells them what they want to hear and makes up the evidence to make it look legit.

This lesson was supposed to be done like 20 years ago.

I always say, if AI is 95% accurate and 5% lies/hallucinations, then there exists out there somewhere a person who has only seen AI lie.

That person is me. I swear I cannot believe people take this shit seriously.

The problem here is threefold, first is that many people can’t read to save their lives, they also do not know how to find and correctly cite information, and lastly they are so lazy that they will run with anything that appears to give a summary.

Remember all those people who thought they were cheating in college by reading Cliff’s Notes or Spark Notes versions instead of learning to actually read?

This is the end result.

The techs at work backed by two arsehole VP tech bros: We could improve your productivity 250%!

Me: First, I don't give a fuck about productivity, only results, second, my team is cheaper than your AI implementation plan and third, I found your AI productivity sample had an average of six errors per Page.

Them: But, but, but we know it's not perfect, you have to check the reports for obvious errors.

Me: Then why the fuck do I need your tool if I need to check its results?

Them: But but but it's the future

Me: This is the sixteenth meeting about AI in three years. I'm going to bill those hours to your department's budget as AI expenses.

Them: You can't do that.

Me, producing the firm's internal budgeting manual: I have highlighted with a pen the related paragraphs. It took me three minutes and twenty seconds. I am billing that time too.

Lol one of my coworkers confidently told me that if I'm ever on a cruise ship and they're giving away ice cream, it's because someone died on the ship and the have to make room in the freezer.
