Sounds like the manager was on some power trip, and didn’t want to accept dad’s ID for him and his son. Whatever. I’d take my money elsewhere and never look back. As for the manager? He should be able to handle that situation without wasting the time police’s time.

So this father was allowed to have a guest with him at his gym and when he brought his son, the gym staff wouldn’t accept any type ID except for a drivers license that his son presumably didn’t have and refused to accept his alternative school ID

And then instead of acting like decent people they jumped right into calling the cops

So yes, the gym staff at this business acted like racist dickheads

Apparently, there are several videos of different parts of the incident that the dad took, but they’re pretty hard to find in their entirety. I can only seem to find edited versions of them, put out by news siites and social media accounts like this video.

Even more information. Here is the response of the father to a comment on his Instagram video where a person says that they bring their teenage son to the gym all the time and their son has never been asked for an ID.

“I know. But not today. Today the rules were different. Today they needed a physical id to hold onto during his workout. I asked for the manager, they said he was with a customer. I asked for him to come see me when he was done, he came with the cops.”

So they demanded a physical ID from this father and son which the son didn’t have because he doesn’t have a drivers license. So the father asked to speak to the manager, and the Jim staff told him that they would send the manager over after he was done talking with another customer and then instead of the manager coming over to talk to him like a decent human being they called the cops instead.

They never told him or his son to leave.
They never accused him of creating a disturbance.

The father simply asked to speak to the manager when he couldn’t meet their demands for a photo ID doe his son, something they apparently never ask white
customers for , and then they decided to immediately escalate the situation by calling the police for no good reason

The fact that the father sounds pissed is understandable. I’d be pissed at the people running this gym too if they treated me this way.

FUCK CRUNCH FITNESS!!!! dogshit gym created two accounts and double billed me for months. i canceled and had to do charge backs for months before they tried to send me to collections. This just further reinforces how dogshit these things are ran.
