tiktok being bought by the us messed up the entire app

I am convinced this is all a trope for meta to get the upper hand on everything.. ever since the us bought tiktok your fyp is filled withs lop, no creativity, or any sort of artistic films no more or just feel-good posts at some point it just turns political. Not to mention the absurd amount of Kalshi ads.. instagram, on the other hand, initially had inferior content to tiktok but nowadays with the us trying to mess up tiktok and all it has pre-american capitalism tiktok curation. But it sucks because tiktok used to be amazing, especially in terms of the arts, id say. but now post something like a short film you made and in 2 days youd be happy to get even 5 likes. Not to mention even if the us government bought tiktok, not only americans would be affected because americans contribute heavily to tiktoks content..

Yes! And TikTok Shop ruined the app as well

the algorithm feels like it got lobotomized overnight. used to be a weird little corner of the internet where random art projects would blow up. now my fyp is just people pointing at products and ai voiceovers reading reddit threads. the kalshi ad thing is so specific but i see it every third swipe.

Feels like they are not doing anything about it.

Whatever that day was in January when it shut down for a bit was the day I left and never looked back.

Twitter sucks now too. The socials aren't as fun.

Also tracking the Sim card to force feed local content makes following other creators useless because the algorithm will just reset the page to forced low effort local content. Even if subscribed to good local content, it just forces the FYP to the lazy content. People no longer have a choice in what they see.

They said why, it was because too many young people were getting their news from tiktok and the government couldn't control the agendas they wanted to push on the people. It's not even a secret.

They said it was because China was spying, but honestlyz which company doesn't at this point? If you have any app, you bet it's transmitting and selling all your data and tiktok is no different than meta
