I fucking knew my girl was up to some type of bandwagon-y shit. All of a sudden she started using chatgpt for EVERYTHING, even advice for our relationship. It’s mad weird

Every day I have a new reason to curse George W Bush for all the kids he left behind.

When I was in the psych ward for depression last December, a nurse gave me the most crazy advice. He insisted that talking to chat gpt really helps and lets you explore your "deeper mind" and whatnot, and I literally could not believe what I was hearing, I just wanted my meds!! He kept going on about how you can reach a new level of thinking talking to chat gpt, even better than taking meds or talking to a therapist.

A psych nurse, you guys. World's fucked.

After the controversy of Sam Altman and the military usage of GPT, I left it for good. Only using Claude or Gemini when really necessary. And now, with Sam Altman's current statements such as "There will be no privacy in the future", It's certain I'm not going back.

No, I'm not from US if that changes anything.

You can't tell them to stop using it if there is a loneliness epidemic. People want connections and this crap gives it to everyone. Just shut down the whole internet then and let's go back to the '90s.

likely be down downvoted for this take but

The way alot of people, even the ones in this comment section justify the way you talk and interact with people you honestly don't make a great case for being better than chat gpt. The better argument is almost always how ai leans on resources that can be put to better use elsewhere.

The take of "well ai is no substitute for human interaction" doesn't account for how communities treat minorities, the obese, LGBTQ, and women in traditional spaces. weather that be in therapy, the gym, or retail quite often asking chat gpt is a preferable alternative then being expected to tolerate interacting some of the shittiest people society has to offer. If you genuinely hate how easily people prefer ai to human interaction, strive to be the type of person people would want to talk to in the first place.
