Not really the dogs fault.

You didn't have a key going out? How's that the dog's fault?

My dog hits the lock button as soon as I close the door and just sits in the seat. I have had to keep a spare key on me at all times since she was a puppy. She is pretty good at finding it in different vehicles so I have to be super careful with rental vehicles.

She is nine now and I still have no clue what motivates her compulsion. She hears the lock actuators and stops. I would be offended if it was just me, but even if we are passengers and the driver gets out she tries to get to the driver's seat and mess with door buttons.

The dog will bake in there if it was daytime. It will become… a hotdog.
